Corn Fed Spartans was recently voted “Largest OCR Team” by the MudRunFun community which brought in over 2000 votes at the end of 2015. The obstacle racing team was born in Indiana in 2011, when Jonathan Nolan, Nathan Deaver and a few others began looking for ways to bring a Spartan Race to Indiana. The Corn Country Spartans, as they were briefly called, took the internet by storm and recruited heavily with the sole purpose of getting those 1000 email addresses necessary to get Joe Desena to bring Spartan Race to their state. That year, Indiana held their first Spartan Race and the rest is history.
Corn Fed Spartans have representation in every state and boast a roster of over 3,000 spartans. They are mostly concentrated in the mid west states of Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Michigan. Their fearless leader, Ande Wegner, is always very enthusiastic and welcoming of new people wanting to discover the sport of obstacle course racing.
