Battle Run Benefiting A Soldier's Child Foundation
The Battle Run is a fundraising event where all profits are donated to the A Soldier's Child Foundation in support of its 2026 camps. The foundation serves children of fallen U.S. service members. The event is the ninth annual Battle Run and takes place at Henry Horton State Park in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
Participants can choose from several event formats, each with a distinct character. The Crucible is a multi-lap event totaling 26.2 miles (a marathon) on mixed surfaces, including an obstacle course. The Battle Axe is a 13.1-mile trail run. The Anvil is a 3.1-mile trail run.
The Gauntlet is a course of over 3 miles featuring more than 20 obstacles, with start times at 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 11:00 AM. A combo event allows participants to run both the Anvil and the Gauntlet. Dax's Kid Gauntlet is an obstacle course for children aged 4-12; they can start every half hour between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM and run it multiple times with a single registration.
Participants receive a t-shirt, a custom dog-tag, and a plate lunch at the finish line. Plate lunches are also available for non-participants for a donation to the foundation. The event includes a festival area with games, food, and music from a DJ. Photos are taken on the course and posted after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
