The Big Bear Spartan Weekend takes place on May 16-17, 2026, at the Big Bear Mountain Resort - Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake, California. It is rated as an extreme event due to its high altitude, reaching up to 8,200 feet above sea level, and features steep climbs and descents exceeding 1,200 feet. The weekend allows participants to attempt multiple obstacle course races as part of a Trifecta challenge.
Race Distances
Multiple distances are offered:
- Sprint: 5 km with 20 obstacles, held May 16-17.
- Super: 10 km with 25 obstacles, held May 17.
- Beast: 21 km with 30 obstacles, held May 16.
- Kids Race: 1-3 km with obstacles, held May 16-17.
Additional Information
The event is part of the West National Series and qualifies finishers for the 2026 Trifecta World Championship. A separate Spartan Trail race also occurs during the weekend. Amenities such as bag check and parking are included in the ticket price, and spectator tickets are available.
