Extreme Adventure Challenge : Versailles, KY
The Extreme Adventure Challenge is a fundraiser hosted by Life Adventure Center on May 16, 2026 at 570 Milner Road, Versailles, KY. The event raises money for scholarships and supports the center’s mission to empower trauma-affected individuals through outdoor adventure. Entry fees range from $60 to $100. The event is open to ages 16–99 and fields teams of two or four people; the FAQ notes 30 teams will participate.
Teams take part in a timed, two-hour challenge on a 10K course across the center’s 575-acre farm, described as spanning 5+ miles. There are 18 checkpoints with activities that include mountain biking, ziplining, archery, and canoeing. Teams earn points for arriving at and completing checkpoints and compete in male, female, and mixed divisions. All participants receive a race t-shirt, hydration and nutrition; the winning team receives a trophy and free registration for the next year.
Format, safety and logistics
Checkpoints use written instructions and a punch card system; teams submit their punch card and have their time and points recorded at the Brown Family Pavilion. Teams arriving before the time expires can earn a bonus point; late arrivals incur minute-by-minute penalties up to disqualification after ten minutes. Two water stations are placed along the course.
Life Adventure Center will staff checkpoints and provide required equipment such as bikes, canoes, helmets, harnesses, and personal flotation devices. Safety oversight includes a certified lifeguard for canoeing, a NASP certified archery instructor, and facilitators for the challenge course and zipline. Volunteer roles are listed for checkpoint support, photography, race headquarters, and water stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
