Event overview
The Fort Gordon Marine Mud Challenge is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at Fort Gordon, GA (19th St & Barnes Ave, 30905). The event uses a 4 mile off-road course with more than 30 obstacles, a stream crossing, hills and mud. All competitors must complete every obstacle. Every runner will be timed using electronic timing.
Proceeds from the 2025 Marine Mud Challenge will benefit service members and families of the Fort Gordon community. The event provides wash down and changing facilities and water during and after the event.
Participation and logistics
Registration is individual. Competitive categories are designated for runners who plan to run the entire course and complete every obstacle. Only the first 800 registrants will receive an event shirt. Entrants must be at least 13 years old; this age requirement can be waived with parent or guardian approval.
Gate 6 is the only entry gate for people without DOD ID cards. Non-DoD visitors must register for a visitor pass at least 24 hours in advance. All vehicle occupants over age 16 must show valid picture ID at Fort Gordon gates, and participants should allow at least 30 minutes for base entry due to security. Free parking is available near the race start. The U.S. Army will not provide insurance and is not responsible for damage, loss, or injury. Volunteers are requested to help with event tasks.
