Event overview

The Fort Gordon Marine Mud Challenge takes place on September 12, 2026, at Fort Gordon, GA (19th St & Barnes Ave). The event uses a 4 mile off-road course with more than 30 obstacles, a stream crossing, hills and mud. Old clothes and shoes or boots are recommended; participants are advised to bring a change of clothes. Pockets may fill and pants without draw strings may come off.

Competition is individual. Every runner will be timed using electronic timing. Competitive categories are reserved for participants who can run the entire course and complete every obstacle. All competitors must complete all obstacles. Entrants must be 13 years of age or older unless a parent or guardian approval waives the requirement.

Logistics and other details

Only the first 800 registrations will receive an event shirt. Free parking is available in the vicinity of the race start. Wash down and changing facilities will be available. Water will be provided during and after the event. The U.S. Army will not provide insurance and will not be held responsible for any damage, loss, or injury.

Non-DoD visitors must use Gate 6 and must register at least 24 hours in advance for a visitor pass. All vehicle occupants over age 16 must show valid picture ID at Fort Gordon gates. Attendees should allow extra time for base security procedures. Volunteers are requested to help with event tasks.
