Loop the 'Lupe!
Loop the 'Lupe! is scheduled for June 6, 2026, at Walt Hundley Playfield in Seattle, WA 98126. The event centers on a 1K loop course at the playfield; most races consist of five laps to create a 5K distance.
The event offers multiple formats and distances:
- 5K Elite Wave obstacle course with 45 obstacles total, 9 per loop.
- 5K Family Wave obstacle course with 7 obstacles per loop.
- 5K Fun Run run or walk with no obstacles.
- 1K Youth Dash one lap with 7 obstacles and adult supervision.
- Senior Saunter walking event, 100 percent flat and no obstacles.
On the Elite Wave course two additional obstacles are available but will be shut down 40 minutes after the start; participants still competing after that time continue on the 7-obstacle Family Wave course. Typical obstacles include tires, walls, and mud pits.
Event amenities and services mentioned include showers at the playfield, a post event area with live music, food vendors and a beer and cider garden, and a soccer penalty kick activity. The Washington State Department of Health will provide COVID and flu vaccinations at the event. All participants receive a tech race shirt and a finisher medal; shirt sizes may be limited for registrants after May 16.
Proceeds support outreach programs run by Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, including food assistance, rent support, re entry programs, safe parking for people experiencing homelessness, and services for migrant workers and the elderly.
