Event
Mud Happens, One Bad Mud Run is scheduled for August 29, 2026 at Phil Moore Park, 7101 Scottsville Rd, Alvaton, KY 42122. The event features a 3 mile obstacle course intended to test participants both mentally and physically. The main course is open to ages 10 and up; all minors must be accompanied by a participating adult. A free designated kids area is available for younger children, and a waiver must be signed by a parent or caregiver before a child may enter that area.
Course and logistics
The course includes both man-made and natural obstacles and runs through heavily wooded or, in some cases, overgrown areas. Organizers maintain a minimum of 20 obstacles; obstacles may change or be added each year. A wash-off station is available after the finish line, and participants may also return to the creek to wash off. There will be a registration table for check-in of personal belongings.
Registration and what to bring
Early-bird pricing starts at $45 and ends on July 4. Group discounts apply: groups of 4 or more receive $5 off per person, and groups of 10 or more receive $10 off per person. Participants are advised to leave jewelry and valuables at home and to wear old clothes and shoes that can get muddy or ruined. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
