Event details
Mudders and Grunters takes place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Yorktown Heights, NY (2957 Crompond Rd, 10598). Registration information on the event page lists a pre-registration fee of $35, race-day registration at $40, and a reduced fee for ages 13-18. The event is open to participants aged 13 to 99. A tee shirt is provided to the first 100 registrants; sizes are not guaranteed. Individual awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and to age-group winners. Post-run food is provided.
Course and race format
All participants run the same approximately 5 mile single-loop course. The course is off road and includes mud, muck, multiple water crossings, and some hills. Water depth and overall course difficulty depend on pre-race weather. Participants are advised to wear old shoes and clothes appropriate for wet and muddy terrain. No runners under 13 years old are permitted.
Series information
Mudders and Grunters is part of the 2026 Trail Mix Series, a set of seven trail races in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. Series scoring requires completion of at least four races; the best four results count toward series points. Completing the series makes runners eligible for overall and age-category recognition and automatic selection in the following year’s Leatherman’s Loop lottery.
