Newbsanity Last Man Standing OCR Ultra
The event takes place in Binghamton, New York on June 27–28, 2026 at 790 Dunham Hill Rd. It is an obstacle course version of a backyard ultra in which athletes complete an obstacle loop every hour until only one athlete remains.
The loop is approximately 3 miles long. Each loop starts precisely one hour after the previous loop; a short warning is given before each start and all competitors must begin at the bell. Competitors may not leave the course during a loop except for restroom breaks. No personal aid is allowed on the loop; a common aid station is available at roughly the halfway point. Each lap must be completed within the hour to be counted, including the final lap. Slower runners must allow passes.
Laps are not officially timed; competitor position is determined by the number of laps completed before elimination. Eliminated runners may still start additional laps during official lap starts but may not provide physical assistance to those still competing. Eliminated runners who complete laps within the hour can still accumulate mileage toward Ultra series rankings. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; if no one completes more loops than others, no winner is declared. The event has no fixed cap on duration.
A relay option is offered for teams of three to six people. Relay teams do not compete directly against other teams but work to complete either 12 or 24 hours as a team, with a team member beginning a new lap each hour. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
