Event Overview
OCR Overload is an obstacle course racing event taking place in Gainesville, Florida. It features multiple types of races including a main obstacle course run, a timed ninja run, and a trail run.
Main Obstacle Course
The primary event is a 4.3-mile obstacle course race (OCR) with over 23 obstacles. The course includes mud holes, light swamps, muddy streams, and rolling pine forests. A key feature is a 140-foot finisher's rig. New obstacles are added for 2025. The event offers both Elite and Open division waves.
Elite Division participants must achieve 100% obstacle completion to be eligible for podium awards and points in a championship series. Cash prizes are available for top finishers.
Open Division rules emphasize having fun with no penalties for failing obstacles. The event aims to be family-friendly.
Other Events
- 50-Yard OCR Ninja Run: A short, timed ninja run where the top 10 runners compete head-to-head for best times. Completion of all obstacles is required for final placement.
- 5-Mile Trail Run/Walk: A trail run that takes place mostly on wooded paths. The course has two water stops.
- 1:00 Volunteer Race: A low-cost race option for volunteers.
Venue & Amenities
The event is held at a specific address in Gainesville. On-site amenities include a BBQ, beer, and wine for participants over 21, a water hose station for rinsing off, and food vendors. Parking is available for a $10 cash fee.
