Poconos Spartan Event Weekend (July 11-12, 2026)
The event takes place at Blue Mountain Ski Area in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. The course runs through dense forests and rugged hills on Blue Mountain, with uphill sections that provide views of the Poconos and steep descents. Spectators can use the chair lift to reach the top of the course. The weekend also includes a separate Spartan Trail Race and a festival area with food and beverage options.
Distances, obstacles, and event features
- Sprint: 5 km, 20 obstacles.
- Super: 10 km, 25 obstacles.
- Kids Race: 1-3 km with obstacles.
Participants encounter named obstacles such as Atlas Carry (stone carry: 100 lb/45 kg for men, 75 lb/35 kg for women), A-frame Cargo, Barbed Wire Crawl, Fire Jump, Inverted Wall, Bucket Carry, Hercules Hoist, Multi-Rig, Rope Climb (16 ft / 4.8 m), Sandbag Carry (60 lb / 27 kg men, 40 lb / 18 kg women), Slip Wall, Spear Throw, and various walls. Finishers receive a Sprint finisher medal and a finisher tee; completing Sprint plus Super and Beast in the same year qualifies for a Trifecta medal. The event notes a service member discount of up to 25% for verified US military, law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, and certain government employees.
