Run Wild Races
Run Wild Races is a bi-annual event held at the Metro Richmond Zoo in Moseley, Virginia, supporting animal conservation efforts, particularly for vulnerable African lions. The event features three main race options: a 1-mile fun run primarily on zoo pathways with mixed terrain, a 5k all-terrain race that starts inside the zoo and extends around its perimeter showcasing wildlife and natural scenery, and the Wild Ninja, an approximately 2-mile obstacle course inspired by American Ninja Warrior with up to 42 challenging obstacles symbolizing real-life animal survival challenges. Participants enjoy free zoo admission post-race, while spectators receive discounted tickets, creating a family-friendly atmosphere that combines fitness, fun, and wildlife awareness.
