Event Overview
The Ultimutt Race is a 5k obstacle course race for dog and human teams. The event features 17 obstacles along its course. It includes an all-day festival.
Race Details
The race offers two participation categories: a competitive wave and a fun run. Only the competitive wave is chip-timed, and participants in this category have a chance to win the title of UltiMutt Champion. Competitive runners who skip an obstacle must perform 30 squats. The fun run follows the same course and obstacles but runners may skip any obstacle without a penalty.
All dogs must be at least one year old and up to date on vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella). Dogs must be leashed at all times during the event; retractable leashes are not allowed. The race uses a wave start, releasing five racers every minute to prevent bottlenecking at obstacles.
Fundraising and Community
A portion of every registration fee is gifted to a local partnering animal shelter. Participants are issued an optional challenge to raise additional funds by race day, with 100% of those donations also going to the shelter.
Participant Information
Each finisher receives a medal, a finisher's T-shirt, a dog bandana, and a commemorative iron-on patch. Discounts are available for participants aged 15 and under, as well as for first responders and military personnel. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
