Tackle The Tar

The Tackle the Tar is an annual 5K obstacle course race held in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, organized by the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount. Taking place at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex, the event features over 20 challenging obstacles, including mud pits, walls, and tunnels, set along a course through historic Battle Park and nearby properties. The race includes a kids' fun run and various heats for different age groups and skill levels.

Proceeds support college scholarships for local students, with over $510,000 awarded since 2016. Participants receive a T-shirt, medal, goodie bag, and a free beer for those over 21.
